Steering and Wheel Alignment
If you have had replacement steering components or your car has
had its subframe moved for clutch or transmission work, you may find that front wheel geometry has been affected and that handling is different. 
This can be corrected by a full four wheel alignment

These angles are compared with manufacturers data and adjustments made where required.  For the majority of cars with front and rear wheel adjustment e.g. Ford Mondeo, Nissan, Rover, BMW, the whole procedure takes approximatley one hour.

Wheel alignment at Mototec is much more than just measuring the toe characteristics of your cars front wheels, commonly known as tracking.  After a thorough inspection for any worn components, a full steering and suspension geometry check is carried out.  We measure :

Camber Angle
Caster Angle
Thrust Line
Front/Rear wheel Toe
Wheel Set Back

Our Equipment
We use a Hunter 411 computerised 4 wheel alignment station controlled by WinAlign software.  Our work shop is also equipped with a Supertracker Laser 4 wheel alignment rig.  This equipment is acknowledged to be the best in the world and our skilled technicians can use it to accuratley set up any vehicle including complicated four wheelster systems.

Aftermarket Equipment
If your car is of the type where a manufacturer has not provided an adjustment for a particular angle correction, Mototec has a large stock of cam bolts, adjustable castor bars, concentric strut top mounts and dual angle full control shims.

This aftermarket equipment provides us with the means to correct vehicles that previously had to be accepted with a steering abnormality or tyre wear problem.

Before and After Reports
On completion of the work you will be given a complete before and after set of easy to understand colour printouts showing the adjustments made.  You will also have have prints of chassis angles and dimensions, a comprehensive document that will enhance any service history.
